Intimacy with God: New Ways to Connect

“The aim of God in history is the creation of an all-inclusive community of loving persons, with Himself included in that community as its prime sustainer and most glorious inhabitant.” — Dallas Willard

Workshop Goals

  • Deepen your intimacy with God through learning new ways of hearing from Him.

  • Bring about personal healing and strengthen capacity to minister to others.

  • Include ample time to “practice” in smaller break-out groups and debrief.

  • End with concrete empowerment to continue practicing within your spheres of influence.

Monthly Online Sessions via Zoom
Saturday afternoons at 2-4 pm Pacific Time

  1. Biblical Foundations (Jason Koide, IVCF, Pacific Region) - October 10th, 2020
Where are these practices found in Scripture?

  2. Lectio Divina (Diane Schouten, Judy Beggs, Wellspring) - November 14th, 2020
How do you listen to scripture with your heart and not just your head? Audibly, meditatively, repeatedly.

  3. Art Journaling and Visio Divina (Luann Budd, NEWIM) - December 5th, 2020
How do you process life, whether it be your day, your year, or these strange times? Experience how art, scripture, and contemplation come together on paper, in living color.

  4. Listening Prayer (David Alvarez, Healing Path Ministries) - January 9th, 2021
There is great need to receive words of comfort, healing and God’s love through prayer. Through listening and healing prayer, we minister the grace and truth of Jesus Christ to others.

  5. Inner Healing (Charisa Kim) - February 13th, 2021
God wants to heal us of our heart wounds. He wants to restore and rebuild broken relationships within families. He also wants to free us from a “performance oriented” lifestyle of doing/performing to receive love and approval.

  6. Prophecy (Jason Koide, IVCF, Pacific Region) - March 20th, 2021
What is it? Speak what God is saying to people for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort.

“For those of us who are in leadership, it is often hard to find space that is quiet enough and safe enough for the soul to be as honest as it needs to be. We don’t often take the time to sit quietly by the base of the tree of our own lives and wait for the wild animal we seek to put in an appearance.” — Ruth Haley Barton
