We are excited to be returning to Vicente Guerrero, Baja Mexico after a 2.5 year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Since 2013, Orchard Valley Christian Church has been sending a team annually to build a home for a needy family. In addition to the building of a house, we will share the good news of the love of Jesus Christ through VBC with the neighborhood children and hand out food bags in the community. We will also visit the families we have formed relationships with from previous years and check on how the children are doing in school.

This year, our 18-member team will leave on June 19 and return on June 25. We will be partnering with YWAM to build a home for a family of 9 people.

As you are called, we would be blessed if you would join with us prayerfully and financially. Would you pray for the health, safety, and unity of the team? Would you pray for open hearts to the Gospel and God's leading.

By God’s Grace, Orchard will again be sending a team this year to Colonia Vicente Guerrero, Baja Mexico. This will be our 7th year going to Baja and 8th house build. This year, we will be sending a team of 15 intrepid souls and will once again be partnering with Youth with A Mission (YWAM). We depart for Baja from the San Diego Airport on Sunday, July 28th, and return on Saturday, August 3rd. We are also pleased that two new members will be joining us this year: Paul and Monica Sakamoto.

Our plan this year is to build a 3-bedroom house for the Soriano-Carreno Family, who have 3 children ages 8, 7 and 5 years old. We also plan to visit each of our build families from previous years, to see how God has been working in their lives as well as to encourage and pray together.

Would you please pray for us as we prepare for ministry in Baja? Pray for God to open the hearts of the people we will be meeting during the week as well as the family that will live in this new home. Pray for our team to work together in unity and to express God’s Love through our actions. Pray for health and safety as we will be driving the local roads, doing construction and adjusting to the local diet. Pray that we go with open hearts to serve the people in Mexico and be open to whatever God wants to teach us.

Your prayers mean a great deal to us. Thank you.

Build Baja 2016

Our church has been blessed these past three years to send a short-term missions team to minister in Baja, Mexico.  These trips not only blessed the people we ministered to, but our team as well.  Last year, we sent a team of 16 people to Mexico to spread the love of Christ.  Once again, we partnered with Wintersburg Presbyterian Church in Santa Ana.  We left for Santa Ana on Saturday, August 6, 2016, departed for Baja on Sunday, August 7, and returned to Santa Ana on Saturday, August 13.

What did we do in Baja? Our top priority was to share the love of God with the Oaxacan people of Colonia Vicente Guerrero, Mexico through the construction of a home for a needy family and discipling local people we’ve ministered to in the past.  Through our words and our deeds, we wanted to spread the love of Jesus and His saving grace to those who do not know Him yet.  In addition, we learned to work, live, and love one another as a team in Christ, in the ways demonstrated for us in the book of Romans.
